Sue Ellen Thompson’s poem featured in The Writer’s Almanac

August 30, 2022

We are thrilled to see Sue Ellen’s poem “Sewing” featured in August 26th’s The Writer’s Almanac. The poem, which appears in the collection, The Golden Hour, begins:

The night before my older sister’s wedding,
my mother and I sat up late
hand-stitching a little cloud of netting
to the brim of each bridesmaid’s hat

To be alone with her was so rare
I couldn’t think of what I had to say.
