Ren Cedar Fuller Interviewed in Pittsburgh Review of Books

March 26, 2026

Thank you to Lori Jakiela and Pittsburgh Review of Books for conducting such a thoughtful interview with Ren Cedar Fuller. Ren and Lori talk storytelling, empathy, and upcoming plans in Pittsburgh.

In this rich and wide-ranging collection, Cedar Fuller, now 62, explores life with an autistic (yet undiagnosed) father, gender diversity, the slippery-ness of truth, being the parent of a trans child, and more. It’s a collection that expands readers’ perspectives and leans hard into empathy at a time when it feels like the world needs it most.

Be sure to catch Ren on Friday, March 27th, from 3:30 to 5:30 pm for a craft class at The University of Pittsburgh’s Writing Center, as well as on March 28th from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm for a reading at White Whale Bookstore in Bloomfield.
