Lynn Schmeidler Named Winner of 2023 BOMB Contest

Congrats to Lynn Schmeidler! Her short story (from her forthcoming collection Half-Lives, winner of the 2023 Rising Writer Prize) “InventEd” was selected by Jonathan Lethem as the winner of BOMB magazine’s 2023 Fiction Contest. Of the story, Lethem said,

The story balances an insouciant warmth and humor against a vertiginous glimpse into the mysteries of solipsism, longing, and the risk of dissolving the self in intersubjective desire. Plus it’s goofy.
