Praise for Coda

Marilyn Donnelly has always lived, spoken, and written, with a stunning, indelible, original voice. Her poems, while often brief, plumb great depths of wisdom and wit. Her style of humor sweeps cobwebs and confusion far far away. She reminds me of those haiku masters of the 13th century whom any of us would have been grateful to meet on a trail. Her voice would have saved us then, as she inspires and saves us now. Do not miss her beauty!
—Naomi Shihab Nye

Marilyn Donnelly sees things and sees them honestly. There is love in her poems for persons and for the world, and there is also a constant reflexive awareness of all that is dark and doubtful.
—Richard Wilbur

For years Marilyn Donnelly has written trim, pityhy lyrics and epigrams that intrigue, amuse, surprise, strir or otehrwise engage us. As readers we feel not talked down or up to but simply conversed with as friends converse. If poetry is the best conversation of which we are capable, then you will find Marilyn Donnelly at her conversational best on every page of this book.
—Samuel Hazo
